Uso de los libros electrónicos por usuarios de la Biblioteca Central UCA, sede Paraná en el año 2018

Abstract

El trabajo desarrollado se centró en identificar el uso que hacen los usuarios de la Biblioteca Central UCA, sede Paraná, de un nuevo servicio implementado: el libro electrónico. Tomando esta información como dato de partida se quería conocer cuál ha sido el comportamiento informativo de los estudiantes a partir de la existencia de este nuevo recurso informativo y las prácticas de lectura digital desarrollada en una institución universitaria. Los resultados arrojan que el libro electrónico ha tenido una acogida positiva por parte de los estudiantes universitarios, constituyéndose rápidamente en una alternativa más para acceder al conocimiento humano, siendo destaca la labor de los bibliotecarios en promover la difusión del nuevo servicio. El libro impreso, según los datos recopilados sigue teniendo una amplia ventaja sobre su par digital, pero esto no quita que en el futuro su uso amplié y llegué a crecer a términos aun desconocidos. La lectura digital en aquellos que hacen uso del servicio es bastante extensa en tiempo, siendo el lapso promedio de consulta, una hora, al menos una vez por semana. Los estudiantes todavía no han explotado todas las ventajas de este nuevo soporte, pues están en una etapa donde todavía están conociéndolo. Se cree que la lectura digital aumentará gradualmente en el tiempo en la medida que las tecnologías nos sigan influyendo de manera transversal.

The work developed focused on identifying the use made by users of the UCA Central Library, Paraná headquarters of a new service implemented: the electronic book. Taking this information as a starting point, we wanted to know what the informative behavior of the students has been from the existence of this new information resource and the digital reading practices developed in a university institution. The results show that the electronic book has had a positive reception by university students, quickly becoming another alternative to access human knowledge, highlighting the work of librarians in promoting the dissemination of the new service. The printed book, according to the collected data, still has a wide advantage over its digital pair, but this does not mean that in the future its use expanded, and I grew to terms that are still unknown. The digital reading in those that make use of the service is quite extensive in time, being the average time of consultation, one hour, at least once a week. The students have not yet exploited all the advantages of this new support, because they are at a stage where they are still knowing it. It is believed that digital reading will gradually increase over time as technologies continue to influence us transversally.
