Una mirada regional a la salud ambiental

Abstract

La salud ambiental es la interacción entre la salud humana y los factores físicos, químicos, biológicos y sociales que se encuentran presentes en el ambiente donde la persona vive o desarrolla sus actividades. Pone énfasis a través de acciones que comprenden la evaluación, gestión de los riesgos y generación de líneas de acción en prevención primaria de los principales peligros ambientales para la salud. Se genera este proyecto como continuación del CAI+D 2016: ?Efectos de plaguicidas en la salud humana en una localidad de la provincia de Santa Fe? y del CAI+D 2020: ?Determinantes ambientales para la Salud?. En este nuevo proyecto se evaluarán los determinantes ambientales (DA) para la salud en población del Centro Norte (Provincia Santa Fe) en función de las Hojas Clínicas Ambientales (HCA) validadas en el CAI+D 2020 ya mencionado. La población quedará conformada en 3 grupos: binomio madre-recién nacido (Hospital Iturraspe) durante su permanencia en el ?roming in?; niños-adolescentes que concurren al servicio de cuidados intermedios (SIM) del Hospital Alassia y los niños y adolescentes de una localidad del Norte de la Provincia. Las personas que acepten participar del proyecto, previo consentimiento informado, se les realizarán hojas clínicas ambientales y se determinará micronúcleos en mucosa oral como bioindicador de genotoxicidad. En el caso del binomio, sólo se realizará el micronúcleo a la madre. Se espera que las actividades previstas permitan continuar con el grupo de investigación orientado a la Salud Ambiental enmarcados en el Objetivo 3 de los ODS. Se intentará obtener los primeros estudios en esta área, promoviendo el trabajo interdisciplinario integrando a estudiantes avanzados de la carrera, así como interprofesional (médicos/ obstetras/ bioquímicos). Los distintos resultados obtenidos permitirán generar pautas basadas en la Atención Primaria de la Salud con énfasis en la Promoción de la salud y Prevención de patologías asociadas a los DA hallados

Environmental health is the interaction between human health and the physical, chemical, biological, and social factors present in the environment where a person lives or perform their activities. It emphasizes actions that include risk assessment, risk management, and the generation of action lines in primary prevention of the main environmental hazards to health. This project is generated as a continuation of the CAI+D 2016: "Effects of pesticides on human health in a small town in the province of Santa Fe" and the CAI+D 2020: "Environmental Determinants for Health". In this new project, environmental determinants (ED) for health will be evaluated in the population of the North Center (Province of Santa Fe) based on the Environmental Clinical Sheets validated in the aforementioned CAI+D 2020. The population will be divided into 3 groups: mother-newborn binomial (Iturraspe Hospital) during their stay in the "rooming in"; childhood-adolescents attending Intermediate Care Service (ICS) of Alassia Hospital; and childhood and adolescents from a town in the north of the province. All the participants will give voluntary informed consent prior to participation. Individuals who agree to participate in the project, will undergo environmental clinical sheets and micronucleus determination in oral mucosa as a biomarker of genotoxicity. In the case of the mother-newborn, micronucleus analysis will only be performed on the mother. It is expected that the planned activities will allow the continuation of the research group oriented towards Environmental Health within the framework of Objective 3 of SDGs. The aim is to obtain the first studies in this area, promoting interdisciplinary work involving advanced students from the field, as well as interprofessional collaboration among doctors, obstetricians, and biochemists. The different results obtained will allow the generation of guidelines based on Primary Health Care with an emphasis on Health Promotion and Prevention of pathologies associated with identified EDs.
